6. Day 2 Filming & Editing

During day 1, we managed to film all of the river scenes which meant that next we had to film all of the indoor shots. This was particularily difficult as filming in a house is very different compared to filming in an open wide space, therefore some of the camera angles were very eperimental. We had a geeral rule to film every shot in a close up, mid shot and wide which would make a 'boring' scene like walking into the house more interesting. Additionsly, It was very challenging an time consuming as my Niece and Nephew were running around the house and often interrupting the shoot.

One of the more challenging scenes to film was the bathroom scene where the girl appears in the bathroom. this took alot of time as the bathroom is small and we had to keep reorganising the mirror so that it turned perfectly to reveal the girl behind the main character. This taught me to be alot more prepared and realistic when thinking of scenes as certain locations do have limitations. Overall I think that the scene was pulled off well, which I am very happy with.

Additionally, I made my own green screen as I wanted to 'go all out' ad try out many different film techniques. My brother-in-law let me use an old board which I painted green. It took lots of time shopping for the right paint within the budget. I managed to find small samples of green paint in wilkinson for £1 which was really fortunate. It took many layers of painting and even still it was not completely even. We then filmed the rest of the house shots which was fairly straightforward as we had more space for the camera to go and I managed to suggest a focus pull into the garden which came out very good!

After this, we edited all of the footage we had and it was a total of 2mins. I then had to come back home which meant no more filming and editing for a month or two!!
