risk assessment

On this page, I will be doing a risk assessment for my short film. A risk assessment is important for the safety of the cast and crew, as well as for the environment of the filming location. A risk assessment is used as a guide to asses the danger when filming at certain locations, using certain props etc. This is good to plan out and think ahead of time as it allows the cast and crew to be fully prepared and have an understanding of what could go wrong and what to do if something does go wrong. I dont have many filming locations therefore I specified my risk assessment for the river scene's in which there is potential danger. I can imagine for longer short films and feature length films their risk assessments would be a lot more detailed and a lot more thought out due to the possibility of many different locations, stunts etc.

Example Of A Risk Assessment

Here is an example of a Rsk Assessment shet that I used for reference. I researched risk assessments so that I could find out exactly what content is put in as well as looking at professional feature length film risk assessments to compare the difference between feature and sort film risk assessments I found out that feature length risk assessments are very detailed and there is an assessment for almost every single crew member such as the director and they are very detailed, compared to short film risk assessments which are shorter and usually less dangerous due to restrictions in location, budget etc.
My Risk Assessment

This is the risk assessment for my short film. I used a template as I wanted to be as professional as possible during this whole process as it would prepare me and further aid my understanding in the production of a media product. due to the fact that my film doesnt use many locations the risk's for my film are fairly low. After analysing the table of its risk level I found that all of the risks that I could think of were extremely low. This is a good thing as it means that I have identified the risks when filming and I have prepared incase something does hapen. If I had a range of risk levels then I would be able to consider which risks would be more likely and more hazardous, herefore allowing my to create a priority from the most dangerous to the least - making me more prepared.
