I have completed my first storyboard draft using a graphics tablet. This was based from my first, initial idea of having the main character's consciousness haunt him and kill him, signifying suicide from guilt. I was heavily inspired from 'it follows' in the fact that it is something psychologicl, and therefore unstopable. This suit my chosen genre of horror as the premise is quite creepy and original in my opinion.
From further testing, experimentation and thought bout the direction of my film, I have decided to re think the premise of my short film due to the fact that there is only one adult actor (Me) and one cameraman, this would make it incredibly difficult to film and successfully pull of some of the shots I want to include such as when the character emerges from the bushes when the main character runs away. We attemped this which, in my opinion, was effective but I have decided to make a big decision to change the concept of the character's guily following him, as himsef, to apparitions of the little girl haunting him. This would make the audience active, deciging for themselves if the aparition is a vengefull supernatural entity or his conscious causing him to halucinate from guilt and kill himself.
I prefer this idea alot as it would leave the film open ended and is quite experimental, which is what short films usually are.
I have now done my second storyboard draft and the script for the film. The script is quite easy and wont change too much as there is no dialogue.
At the moment, I am very happy with how the idea of my film is coming along and I am excited to start workig on it.
